Many elevators used in towers don't have a 13th floor. This is because many people believe that 13 is an unlucky number, and most people don't want to live on that floor. The solution was either name the 13th floor as 14th floor and so on, or as many towers do they make it a mechanical floor where all the equipment like air conditions and pumps are located. This is also common in hotels and hospitals where many don't have the room "13". When numbering the rooms, they skip 13 and the next room after 12 is called 14 and so on.
